Rays History:
On October 19th, 2008, the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Boston Red Sox by the score of 3-1. Thus, the Rays became the 2008 American League Champions and punched their tickets to the world series for the first time in franchise history. Matt Garza was named the ALCS MVP for two excellent performances during the seven game set, while rookie phenom David Price hammered the final nail in the coffin of the Red Sox 2008 season.
