With the return of spring training, as has Neil Solondz's excellent prospect spotlight videos where he takes a close up look at some of the top prospects the Rays have in their system.

Over the past calendar year, Solondz has taken a look at top talents such as Garrett Whitley, Richie Shaffer, Mikie Mahtook, Taylor Guerreri, and Daniel Robertson as well as many others. To kick off 2016, Solondz starts with a player who has yet to play a professional game in with the Rays, 2016 second round pick, catching prospect Chris Betts.

The reason Betts has not yet played a game under the Rays is do to the fact the had to undergo Tommy John surgery. It's also the same reason he's a Rays prospect today.

Betts was projected to go in the first round of the draft, until elbow problems dropped his draft status, allowing the Rays to swoop in an snag him in the second round. Betts is currently rehabbing, but may be ready in time for short-season ball to begin.

Solondz also sat down with one of the most exciting prospects to come through the Rays system in the team's 20 year history, Brent Honeywell.

What makes Honeywell unique, and has been discussed numerous times, is his stellar screwball. Honeywell was drafted in the second round of the 2014 draft, but was has impressed in every level thus far and may start the season in Double-A Montgomery.

Thanks as always to Neil for this great coverage.

For a touch of bonus content, here's a bit of audio of Daniel Robertson when he was mic'd up during the Arizona Fall League:
