MLB Opening Day 2016: How to watch the Tampa Bay Rays, TV schedule, streaming information, and more

New, comments

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Rays will be playing one of the first regular season games of the season on Sunday as they'll welcome the Toronto Blue Jays to Tropicana Field to kick off a four game set. Tampa Bay can hope to capitalize on Toronto's travel fatigue, as the team will have just flown in from a two game exhibition series in Montreal.

Here are all the ways you can watch, listen, and stream Opening Day coverage.

Pregame Coverage

ESPN will have a season preview air Saturday night at 10:00pm EST, then Baseball Tonight two hours and a half later will also discuss the season before kicking off the season with the Cardinals at Pirates. The Rays are the second game of the day.

Meanwhile, Fox's Sun Sports will have nine and a half hours of continuous TV coverage on Sunday:

A special on Rays Rookies will kick off the marathon at 1:00 EST

At 1:30, an episode of Inside the Rays will air, featuring Sun Sports personality Todd Kalas and all the behind the scenes features they can cram into half an hour.

Following that, at 2:00, there will be an off-season special, recapping what has transpired since the final out back in October to the end of spring training.

At 2:30, there will be Sun Sports's preview for the Rays regular season.

At 3:00 there will be a live pregame show -- Rays Live! -- that will be hosted on site.

Game Coverage

Finally, at 4:00, Fox Sun Sports will begin their coverage of the game with the usual suspects: DeWayne Staats, Brian Anderson, Todd Kalas, Rich Hollenberg, Emily Austen, Orestes Destrade, and Doug Waechter all on hand.

ESPN will have their own coverage with Dave Flemming, Curt Schilling, and Eduardo Perez being the voices of the telecast.

When: 4:00 EST, Sunday, April 3rd, 2016
Where to watch: ESPN2 / Sun Sports
Where to listen: WDAE 620AM/95.3FM / WAMA 1550 / MLB At Bat
Where to stream: MLB.tv / WatchESPN / MLB At Bat app (out of market only)

Pitching match up: Marcus Stroman vs. Chris Archer

Immediately following the game, there will be another edition of Rays LIVE! recapping the events on Sun Sports, then to cap it off, there will be a replay of the game.
