The first pitch of the Rays regular season won't be thrown until more than 48 hours from now, but that didn't stop Kevin Cash from announcing the batting order and defensive alignment the Rays will throw out when they take on the Blue Jays on Sunday.
Despite the popular opinion, lightning in a bottle catcher, Curt Casali, won't be in the starting lineup as Cash has decided to go with Hank Conger -- due to the match up against Stroman -- with the rest of the order falling as we predicted it would.
- Logan Forsythe, 2B
- Logan Morrison, 1B
- Evan Longoria, 3B
- Corey Dickerson, DH
- Desmond Jennings, LF
- Brad Miller, SS
- Steven Souza Jr, RF
- Kevin Kiermaier, CF
- Hank Conger, C
Against a right-handed pitcher, Kevin Cash is going with a lineup that rotates L-R-L-R match ups and he'll be able to turn to Brandon Guyer, Steve Pearce, Tim Beckham, and Curt Casali if the situation calls for it.
