In Class-A action, 2015 draft pick Joe McCarthy was in the lineup at first rather than the outfield. While not a hard position to pick up compared to others, any versatility is definitely a plus.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (4-1)

Durham pulled out a walk off win in the bottom of the 11th, winning 6-5 on Carlos Corporan's RBI single. Durham held the lead through the fifth until Gwinnett tied up the game in the top of the sixth. The game remained tied until Gwinnett took the lead in the top of the 11th, but Durham came back and scored two in the bottom of the inning to take home the victory. Mikie Mahtook led the team with two RBIs and Taylor Motter, Richie Shaffer, Dayron Varona, and Carlos Corporan all had one RBI. Adam Wilk started and allowed three earned runs in 4 2/3 innings, and Tyler Sturdevant took home the win with two innings of work despite giving up the lead in the top of the 11th.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (1-3)

The Biscuits were postponed due to rain. The game will be made up at the end of May in a doubleheader.

Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (1-4)

Charlotte dropped their first game in the series against Clearwater, 4-3. This was its third loss in a row. The game was back and forth, with both teams scoring in the first, second, and third innings. Shortstop Pat Blair hit a solo home run in the fifth. Justin Williams had an RBI groundout to start the scoring but also made an error that allowed a Clearwater run to score. Starter Chris Pike went six innings and allowed four runs on four hits, striking out two. He took the loss in the end. Mike Franco and Kyle Bird each threw a scoreless inning in relief.

Class-A Bowling Green Hot Rods (3-2)

Bowling Green ended up losing on a walkoff, with a final tally of 7-6. The Hot Rods had tied up the game after giving up the lead in the bottom of the 8th, but ended up giving it up again in the bottom of the 9th. Zacrey Law hit a two-run home run in the 4th, and Joe McCarthy, David Rodriguez, and Angel Moreno all had one RBI each. Genesis Cabrera started the game and gave up three runs (one earned) in four innings, but Diego Castillo ended up taking the loss, pitching 1 1/3 innings and allowing three runs (one earned) as well.
