Rays prospects and minor leagues: Schultz throws six scoreless for Durham

Willy Adames hit a solo home run to help power Montgomery to a victory

Cameron Varga dominated the Lansing Lugnuts for Class-A Bolwing Green, striking out ten and limiting them to one run. His strong start helped ease Bowling Green to an 8-4 victory.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (5-3)

Durham had strong all-around pitching, shutting out Charlotte 2-0. Jaime Schultz threw six scoreless innings, Dylan Floro threw two more, and Tyler Sturdevant closed out the game for a save. Schultz had the only walk among the three. Taylor Motter hit a solo home run in the fourth and Luke Maile had an RBI single in the seventh along with two doubles.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (4-3)

Taylor Guerrieri turned in five innings of work allowing two runs, getting a no-decision in Montgomery's 6-3 win. Brett Marshall took home the win, pitching 1 2/3 innings and not allowing a hit. Granden Goetzman led the scoring with three RBIs, hitting a two-run double and an one-run single. Willy Adames and Johnny Field each got one RBI, with Adames hitting a solo home run.

Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (3-5)

Charlotte was the only Rays affiliate to lose on Thursday, coming in on the short end of 6-4 final score. Damion Carroll came on to pitch the sixth but ended up allowing three runs -- two earned -- on three hits and was tagged with the loss. Mac James, Grant Kay, Nick Ciuffo, and Bralin Jackson all turned in one run each. Thomas Milone logged a stolen base.

Class-A Bowling Green Hot Rods (4-4)

Bowling Green took the hammer to Lansing, winning by an 8-4 margin. Cameron Varga threw six innings, allowing only four hits and one run while taking the win. Varga struck out ten in the victory. Jake Cronenworth had three RBIs, and Joe McCarthy and Brett Sullivan each chipped in two RBIs. Sullivan hit a two-run home run in the seventh.
