Last night Jake Arrieta threw a no-hitter. Did you see that? It was pretty cool. Our old buddy Ben Zobrist was there, manning second base for the Cubbies. Also Joe Maddon.
I think that Ben Zobrist is the only former Ray I can think of that, were he to go rogue and play for a hated rival, perhaps even one from a city we've recently visited, I would still harbor no ill will towards him in the slightest, and actively root for him to succeed. Ben Zobrist is a god among men in my eyes, and I hope he plays baseball forever, or for as long as he wants to. It's his life.
I met him when he was traded to the Rasy for Aubrey Huff and Mitch Talbot. That turned out to be a good trade huh. I interviewed him for the "Kidz" section of the St. Pete Times and he was one of the kindest people I had ever met. He was so patient with my idiotic questions and I've always remembered that.
Go Ben Zobrist and Go Rasy
