MLB to integrate Statcast analytics into broadcasts with MLB Plus

The future is now for advanced analytics in baseball as MLB Plus will make it's debut tonight. Through MLB Network and mlb.tv, it will cover the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees game, ensuring it could be seen by a very large audience.

MLB Plus will feature a broadcast team fluent in the latest aspects of advanced scouting in the game, but it will also feature the beloved Statcast, as well as a couple of other broadcast enhancements.

"MLB Plus will place a real-time emphasis on the numbers and metrics used by many of the game's current decision-makers, from spin rate and outfield positioning to exit velocity and lead distance. In addition, MLB Plus will supplement the action with videos explaining the technology used and in-depth prospect reports."

Truly this groundbreaking in spreading the new age of statistics across the game. As for the people that will lend their talents to airing the game, among them will be former Rays top prospect and playoff hero, Fernando Perez.

There are currently six game scheduled to air over the next month, unfortunately there isn't a Rays one among them. Then again, blackout restrictions apply, so count yourself lucky there.
