Benton Moss threw seven one-run innings in Charlotte's win against Fort Myers. Meanwhile, Bowling Green barely produced a whimper in their loss.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (11-13)
Thanks to a Taylor Motter two-run home run in the sixth, Durham was able to grab a 3-1 win. Jaime Schultz had another solid start, allowing just two hits and two walks in six shutout innings. Kyle Roller knocked a solo home run in the ninth to help build a cushion for Ryan Garton's second save of the season.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (13-9)
Montgomery's offense was firing on all cylinders last night, knocking around the Chattanooga Lookouts in a 12-0 win. Jake Hager, Jake Bauers, and Juniel Querecuto all had three RBIs each. Johnny Field and Willy Adames also had an RBI each. Taylor Guerrieri went five innings and allowed only one hit and one walk. Buddy Borden threw the last four innings and allowed zero hits with three walks and six strikeouts, earning a save.
Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (11-12)
Charlotte eked out a win in a pitcher's duel, defeating Fort Myers 2-1. Starter Benton Moss went seven innings, allowing just one run and four hits while striking out seven. Lefty Kyle Bird pitched two perfect innings to end the game, cutting up the Miracle, striking out five of the six batters he faced. Grant Kay hit a solo home run in the fourth inning for the go-ahead run. Thomas Milone drove in the other run on a fielder's choice in the second.
Class-A Bowling Green (11-12)
Bowling Green was the only Rays affiliate to lose last night, falling to the Kane County Cougars 6-0. Michael Velazquez took the loss as he allowed all six runs over six innings of work. The Hot Rods managed little offense, hitting only four singles and no extra-base hits. Angel Moreno had two singles in three at-bats.
