Rays prospects and minor leagues: Pat Blair knocks two-run homer in Charlotte's win

Johnny Field hit his fourth homer and 22nd RBI to help Montgomery in their victory

Jim Donten

Durham's offense was listless, leaving numerous runners on base as they were shut out. Bowling Green was postponed due to rain; the game will be made up today. Charlotte plays a doubleheader today as well to make up for a rainout from May 4.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (15-20)

The Bulls left 11 men on base yet couldn't manage to score a run in a 3-0 loss to the Buffalo Bisons. Dayron Varona put himself in scoring position twice with two doubles and Kyle Roller had one himself, yet the Bulls couldn't capitalize. Overall, the Bulls had 10 hits, with each Durham player registering at least one. Austin Pruitt got no run support and was dealt his second loss of the season.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (20-13)

Despite blowing a three-run lead in the top of the ninth, the Biscuits were able to pull out a 5-4 victory over the Tennessee Smokies. Brad Schreiber blew the save in the ninth, but Jared Mortensen was able to hold the Smokies in the top of the tenth and earned the win. With the bases loaded, Granden Goetzman reached on a walk-off fielder's choice to get the winning run. The majority of the Montgomery offense came in the first inning, with three runs scoring to jump out to an early lead.

Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (19-15)

The Charlotte offense gave its pitchers plenty of run support despite each pitcher allowing a run, as the Stone Crabs cruised to a 7-3 victory over the Palm Beach Cardinals. Charlotte scored three runs in the fifth inning to crack open the game, with a two-run single by Alec Sole and Mac James scoring on a Palm Beach error. Pat Blair had a 2-run home run in the sixth to seal the deal for the Stone Crabs.

Class-A Bowling Green Hot Rods (19-14)
