TODAY'S STARTING PITCHERS:

2016 W L ERA FIP K% BB% AVG BABIP HR GS IP fWAR
Michael Pineda 2 5 6.34 4.53 24.7% 6.6% .306 .378 10 9 49.2 0.4
Matt Moore 1 3 5.47 4.52 21.9% 7.1% .282 .331 9 9 51.0 0.3

Matt Moore was fantastic during the month of April, but has hit the road block that has seemingly stung all of the Rays starting pitchers in May as he has struggled to put batters away and just cannot pitch deep into games. So far this month, Moore has just over 19 innings pitched in four starts. His last start was on the 23rd against the Marlins where he allowed a season 10 hits, yielding five runs while he walked one and struck out three over five innings pitched.

Michael Pineda Scouting Report:

The Rays lit up Pineda the last time they faced him, they got to him for seven runs in New York, hitting four homers off him in just five innings. His season line resembles members of the Rays rotation as he can provide somewhat good starts, but is struggling to pitch deep into games and inevitably has a rough outing. His last time out on the 22nd against the Athletics resulted in just his second victory of the season as he completed seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits, walking one, and striking out six.
