The Rays broke out of their offensive funk at Tropicana Field as they knocked Michael PIneda out of the game early and totaled nine runs overall to snap their three game losing streak. The Rays are now at 22-25, still in last place in the American League East, six games back of the Boston Red Sox. Meanwhile, the Yankees fell to 23-25, five and a half games out.

Odorizzi has quietly been putting up quality starts for the Rays, however, he is still struggling to pitch deep into games. Over seven of his 10 starts, Odorizzi has allowed two earned runs or less, with his lasting being one of those times as he shutout the Marlins for five innings, while walking three and striking out seven picking up his second victory of the year.
Nathan Eovaldi Scouting Report:
Eovaldi started off the season terribly but has since calmed down and been possibly the second best starter on the Yankees staff behind Masahiro Tanaka. Over his last four outings, he's registered 25 innings pitched and has only given up six runs, with just one of those coming over his last 12 innings. During his last start on the 24th against the Blue Jays, Eovaldi kept Toronto scoreless for six innings while giving up just two hits, walking three and striking out five.
