Bowling Green's pitching staff threw a three-hit shutout as Bowling Green took home a 2-0 win. Durham had off Thursday, but Jaime Schultz takes the mound for the Bulls and Taylor Guerrieri is slated to pitch for Mongtomery.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (12-16)
The Bulls were off.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (15-11)
Small ball was the key in Montgomery's 3-2 win over the Birmingham Barons. Johnny Field had the only hit for the Biscuits, stole three bases, and scored a run. Willy Adames swiped two bases and Goetzman also had a stolen base, both scoring a run each. Jacob Faria threw six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five. Jeff Ames threw a perfect eighth inning to earn a hold and Brad Schreiber notched his sixth save of the season despite allowing a one-out double.
Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (14-13)
Charlotte ended up losing a 4-3 game in 10 innings despite holding a 3-0 lead over Bradenton at one point. Riley Unroe had to leave the game early in the third inning, and we will have to keep an eye on that in the coming days. Grant Kay, Mac James, and Cristian Toribio all had one RBI each in the loss. Hunter Wood put up a decent start, going six innings, allowing two runs but striking out seven. Neil Wagner allowed the tying run in the eighth inning and Kyle Bird allowed the decisive run in the bottom of the 10th.
Class-A Bowling Green Hot Rods (15-13)
Bowling Green's pitching staff held the Burlington Bees to only three hits in a 2-0 shutout win. Genesis Cabrera pitched five innings and allowed only two hits and no walks. Armando Bastardo and Jose Alvarado allowed only one hit combined in four innings of work. Jake Cronenworth and Michael Russell contributed the two RBIs for the Hot Rods. Angel Moreno went 3-for-4 with two doubles.
