The Rays selected three players on Day 1 of the 2016 draft: high school third baseman Josh Lowe and college outfielders Ryan Boldt and Jake Fraley. The draft continues Friday afternoon.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (28-34)

The Bulls pulled out a close 3-2 victory over the Norfolk Tides with two home runs in the series finale against the Tides. Logan Forsythe continued his rehab assignment with a solo home run in the third inning to break open the scoring. Jake Goebbert smacked his fourth home run of the year with a two-run blast in the seventh inning to get the game-winning run. Justin Marks struck out eight in six innings, allowing two runs on four hits. Eddie Gamboa and Steve Geltz shut the door on the Tides, allowing only three baserunners over three combined innings.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (30-30)

Montgomery absolutely demolished the Biloxi Shuckers, plating 17 runs in its monster 17-2 victory. The Biscuits knocked 20 hits with each batter registering at least one hit and almost everyone scoring a run. Willy Adames and Patrick Leonard led the game with four RBIs each. Adames hit his eigth home run of the year, a three-run shot as part of a six-run sixth inning. Jake Bauers and Jake DePew drove in three runs apiece; Bauers now has 34 on the year. Kean Wong, Mike Marjama, and Braxton Lee all contributed a RBI. Casey Gillaspie scored four runs while going 2-for-4 with two walks. Taylor Guerrieri had more than enough run support in his fourth win of the year, allowing two runs -- one earned -- over six innings of work.

Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (30-30)

Charlotte came back even to .500 after losing a 4-2 game to the Clearwater Threshers. Jonny Venters started but only went one inning, allowing one run and taking the loss. Greg Harris pitched six innings afterwards allowing two more runs which put Charlotte three runs in the hole. Despite back-to-back RBIs by Alec Sole and Bralin Jackson in the seventh, the Stone Crabs could never claw back. Justin Williams left the game after one at-bat, which we hope isn't due to a re-aggravation of the injury that sent Williams to the DL on April 22.

Class-A Bowling Green Hot Rods (29-30)

A blown lead in the top of ninth cost Bowling Green the game in a 4-3 decision with the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Diego Castillo walked out hoping to close out the game, but instead blew his second save and took his third loss of the year. Jose Mujica turned in one of his better starts of the year, limiting the TinCaps to two runs over six innings, keeping the game tied through that point. A Brandon Lowe RBI single gave Bowling Green the lead in the bottom of the seventh, but the lead was fleeting with Castilla blowing the save.
