Ed. note: those of us in Florida are especially devastated to wake up to news of a horrendous mass shooting in our backyard. We hope everyone in the DRB community is safe, and that we can find some distraction as we turn our attention to today's game.
TODAY'S STARTING PITCHERS:
Matt Moore's last outing was sort of strange. The Diamondbacks hit the ball hard off him occasionally, but the Rays defense usually handled most of those plays well. His line was skewed by two mistakes that resulted in two run and three run homers, and one of those homerun balls might have been catchable. At any rate, Moore allowed five runs on seven hits, completing a full seven innings, registering one walk and three strikeouts.
Dallas Keuchel Scouting Report:
It's been a highly disappointing year for the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner as Dallas Keuchel just cannot string together consistent quality outings. He has had glimpses of his 2015 self, but then just falls apart in other outings. He did pitch pretty deep his last time out though, recording one out in the eighth inning, allowing four runs on ten hits -- two home runs -- while he didn't walk anyone and struck out eight.
