So...the Rays lost again yesterday after Erasmo Ramirez suffered a meltdown in the eighth inning of a tied game. But, also during that game, the Rays lost both Mikie Mahtook and Steve Pearce to injuries and now both players have been placed on the disabled list with Nick Franklin and Ryan Garton receiving promotions.

Blake Snell's Tropicana Field debut was less than the glorious outing that was anticipated. Snell would pick up his first major league loss, and somehow only allowed one earned run...despite facing 21 hitters in just over three innings. He did allow a total of five runs thanks to some sloppy fielding efforts, while walking three and striking out three, and he also allowed eight hits.
Corey Kluber Scouting Report:
One game removed from hurling a complete game, Kluber got rocked his last time out on the 15th. Kluber only lasted five innings -- his second shortest outing of the year -- as he allowed eight runs on nine hits, one home run, while he walked one and struck out seven.
