Drew Smyly hasn't pitched since July 6th, as the Rays are hoping to limit his workload as he has dealt with exhaustion and poor performance this season after missing most of the 2015 season with a UCL injury. Smyly's last three times out have been awful. His last start, he allowed seven runs -- four earned -- on eight hits, one homer, while he walked three and didn't record a single strikeout over four innings pitched resulting in his 10th loss of the season.
