Although his promotion happened to correlate with the Rays season going downhill, Blake Snell has been really, really good. He has steadily improved as the season progressed, turning in a dazzling effort his last time out on the 19th in Colorado where he delivered six shutout innings in the uncozy confines of Coors Field, allowing just one hit, walking three and striking out nine leading to his second major league victory.
Jesse Hahn Scouting Report:
Remember Jesse Hahn? He was the prospect that tagged along with Alex Torres in the Brad Boxberger/Logan Forsythe trade. He went on to have a couple of pretty good seasons in 2014 and 2015, but has also dealt with nagging injuries. After making an excellent season debut on April 30th against the Astros delivering six shutout innings, Hahn has not been all that great.
After an awful May in which he made six starts, he had an ERA and FIP both north of six and this resulted in his demotion to the minors, where he did have considerably better results. His last start came on the 20th against the Rockies Triple-A affiliate where he only pitched one inning as to allow him to make the start later today.
