Alex Colome has quickly moved into the ranks of elite relievers, and his accomplishment has been recognized by selection to the All Star team.
He started his relief career last year, and finished the season with a 9.74 K/9, 1.55 BB/9 and didn’t allow a homerun in 40.2 innings of relief with 2.66 ERA and 1.71 FIP.
This season Colome earned the closer role after a spring injury to Brad Boxberger. Colome doesn’t look to be giving up the title of closer anytime soon. In 30.2 innings he has a 1.76 ERA and 2.71 FIP. Colome has a 11.15 K/9 and 3.23 BB/9. Colome is 19 for 19 in save opportunities and hasn’t allowed a run to score.
This is a well deserved honor as Alex Colome has been named to the All-Star Team for the first time in his career.
