TODAY'S STARTING PITCHERS:

Ervin Satana 4 9 3.66 3.90 17.2% 6.3% .256 .290 13 20 120.1 2.0
Blake Snell 3 4 3.08 3.20 22.8% 11.6% .242 .317 2 9 49.2 1.1

Blake Snell continued to show his potential to be a future ace during his last start as he was able to lock down nine strikeouts in just over five innings pitched, but also showed he still has a long way to go as his pitch count was driven up and he was knocked out of the game early. Still, he only allowed two runs (both coming from a sixth inning homer), five hits, while he walked three before departing with one out in the sixth inning.

Ervin Santana Scouting Report:

Santana has easily been the Twins best pitcher this season, and with Ricky Nolasco gone, it's not really close. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in a start since June 14th (eight starts), and he has allowed two runs or less during seven of those outings. His last time out was on the 31st against the White Sox where he allowed three runs -- one earned -- on six hits, two walks, while he did pick up five strikeouts over five innings pitched.
