The Rays hope to avoid a series sweep

Matt Andriese has stymied opposing offenses during his last two outings, at least the first time through the order. But around the 4th and 5th innings, he has fallen apart. He has given up a total 14 runs over his last nine innings pitched. His last start came on the 5th against the Orioles where he allowed seven runs on nine hits, one home run, while he walked one and struck out seven over five innings pitched.

Since joining the Yankees rotation three weeks ago, Cessa has pitched well for New York, but has been plagued by the longball like so many other pitchers this season. Over his last three outings, he has given up a total of five home runs. His last start came on the 6th against the Blue Jays where he allowed two runs on six hits, one home run, while he walked two and struck out three before leaving with one out in the sixth inning.
