Rays prospects and minor leagues 9/13: It’s all over

Hudson Valley’s loss marks the end of the minor-league season for the Rays

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Hudson Valley lost last night, ending both their playoff run and the end of the minor-league season for all Rays affiliates. The Renegades couldn’t extend the series to a third game, falling 2-0 in the series to the State College Spikes.

Short-Season Hudson Valley Renegades (0-2)

As mentioned before, Hudson Valley lost 2-1 to the State College Spikes in their last game of the year. The Renegades jumped out to a quick lead when Miles Mastrobuoni led off the game with a triple and later scored on a Jose Rojas triple. Travis Ott was tasked with keeping Hudson Valley alive, but he allowed a two-run home run in the second inning to give away the lead. Without any more runs, Hudson Valley went down quietly through the first of the game.
