- The Rays managed to pull of a victory against the Chicago White Sox as they avoided a four game sweep. Chris Archer avoided his 20th loss of the season, as the Rays held on for a 5-3 win.
- The Rays are now tied with Arizona for the 29th worst record in the league (i.e. the 2nd pick in the 2017 draft)
- Kevin Kiermaier is hoping to win his second consecutive gold glove, despite missing two months of the season
- The season didn't quite go as Chris Archer had hoped back in spring training, but with a strong second half, he has a positive outlook on his 2016 campaign
Around the League:
- The Chicago Cubs signed Theo Epstein to five year extension valued at $50 million
- Every game that is played with contending teams is incredibly important right now and the Cardinals are one of those teams...they won their game last night in controversial walk-off fashion
- They won that game against the Reds, who also had their star first baseman, Joey Votto, exit the game early after taking a ball off his face and bleeding everywhere
- Yasiel Puig gave a bat to a young fan...after having the fan do 50 pushups
- Jose Fernandez's high school held a vigil for him and brought out his old high school jersey to pay tribute to him...someone stole that jersey
