What an incredible return it was to a major league mound for Alex Cobb. After putting up less than thrilling numbers during his rehab outings, and then a shaky first inning, Cobb defied expectations and dominated the potent lineup of the Toronto Blue Jays. His final line doesn't look as impressive as he actually pitched though as he allowed two runs on four hits, while he walked one and struck out seven over five innings pitched as he exited after delivering 84 pitches (71% strike rate).
CC Sabathia Scouting Report:
Sabathia started out the year pretty good but around late June, the wheels finally fell off for the 16 year old veteran. Over his last 14 starts, Sabathia has an ERA in the high five's, but his last outing was one of his better ones as of late as he allowed two runs -- one earned -- on six hits, one home run, while he walked two and struck out one over six innings pitched but he still wound up with his 12th loss of the season.
