Another week is gone as Spring Training inches closer, now just 30 days away until pitchers and catcher report to Port Charlotte.
To commemorate the date, here’s a list of players who have worn the #30 for the Rays.
Rolando Arrojo (1998), Scott Aldred (1999), Jose Guillen (1999-2001), Brandon Backe (2003), Mark Hendrickson (2004-2006), Dioner Navarro (2006-2010), Brandon Guyer (2011), Luke Scott (2012-2013), Vince Belnome (2014), and Erasmo Ramirez (2015-2016).
Some memorable moments to come for these players with these numbers
Rolando Arrojo becoming the first Rays player to ever play in the All-Star game
Dioner Navarro, the unsung hero of the Dan Johnson game, provided the hit that ultimately won the Rays the game
Erasmo Ramirez nearly no-hit the New York Yankees in 2015
The best and worst age 30 seasons in Rays history
Ben Zobrist put up 6.3 fWAR, while Robert Fick provided -1.0 fWAR
The number 30 in Rays statistics
This past season, Brad Miller brokeout and became a force to reckoned with in the middle of the Rays lineup as he blasted 30 HR, while he also slashed .243/.304/.482, good for 111 wRC+ and he also accrued a total of 2.0 fWAR over 152 games played.
Thanks for following along, check back on Monday as we countdown the days until Spring Training begins!
