A somewhat eventful day for the Tampa Bay Rays unexpectedly unfolded yesterday. In the winding hours of the morning, the team announced that they had hired former Devil Rays farmhand, Matt Quatraro, to be the team’s new third base coach and that Rocco Baldelli would not be returning to his first base coach job, but would be staying with the organization.
Then, late in the afternoon, a news report dropped that leaked the potential location of the Rays new stadium in Ybor city. We’ll have much more on this later today.
As for actual baseball being played, the World Series kicked off last night in Los Angeles under scorching temperatures. The Dodgers struck first with a home run from Chris Taylor in the first inning. But Alex Bregman would launch a solo shot of his own a few innings later to tie the game. October hero, Justin Turner, continued to add to his legend though as he would blast a two run shot in the 6th and that’d be that as the Dodgers took home a 3-1 victory.
