The Tampa Bay Rays are back on Fox Sports Sun today as they’ll take on the Boston Red Sox in Port Charlotte at 1pm.

Some news for the club as we get set for today’s game.

  • Colby Rasmus will probably start the season on the disabled list, but will be with the team quickly, likely only spending a week on the shelf. He is healthy enough to hit, but not quite ready to play in the outfield.
  • The Rays are on the cusp on signing veteran catcher Derek Norris, meaning there is only spot open for the trio of Jesus Sucre, Curt Casali, and Luke Maile to battle for

Today’s Game

Blake Snell goes to the mound for the Rays as he hopes to pitcher deeper into games in preparation for the regular season. Tommy Hunter and Justin Marks are slated to throw for the Rays as well.

Colby Rasmus leads off and will be the Designated Hitter. In the outfield from left to right will be Corey Dickerson, Kevin Kiermaier, and Steven Souza Jr.

Meanwhile, the Rays will be sending Evan Longoria to third, Tim Beckham at short, with Brad Miller and Rickie Weeks Jr on the right side of the infield. Luke Maile is behind the plate.
