Evan Longoria had already plated the first run of the 2017 season on a sac fly, but in his second plate appearance against Masahiro Tanaka and the Yankees, he absolutely clobbered a baseball into the “162 Landing” in right field.

Look at that baseball fly — all muscle from the Rays homerun leader in 2016.
Hey, Evan Longoria hit a line drive homer against the Yankees into that little left field corner spot. Has that ever happened before?

The left field corner is of course named after the shenanigans of the historic Game 162 that sent the Rays to the playoffs in 2011. Longoria’s homerun bat sits in Cooperstown today. This season it’s also decorated with an advertisement to Longoria’s restaurant -- and rightfully so. Longo owns that spot.
