I just watched Saturday Night Fever and boy was it an entirely different movie than I expected. I sort of thought that it would be a fun romp and a celebration of late 70's disco but man was it depressing. Everyone in the film seemed trapped in some way, and not even dancing could provide them a proper release.
I'm not even trying to draw a metaphor between this film and the Rays' season, not least because we are four games into the season and it's too early to even establish a proper narrative yet. Plus, I feel cautiously optimistic about this season anyway, although much of that is certainly because of the newness of it all again.
Anyway go rays
