With Erasmo starting after a relief appearance the day before, and the young but supremely talent Jose De Leon as the main starters available, the Rays offense needed to come through. That they did, with the Rays out-slugging the Rangers in the Ballpark in Arlington.

- Mike Trout is injured and according to the team he will undergo surgery to repair UCL in his thumb, and be out 6-8 weeks. This is Trout’s first DL stint of his sterling career.
