In College World Series action Monday, Drew Rasmussen was not needed in Oregon State's blowout win over LSU. Florida State stayed alive and eliminated Cal State Fullerton. Shortstop Taylor Walls reached base a couple times and scored a run.
On Tuesday, Brendan McKay and JJ Schwarz will presumably bat on opposing sides in the high-stakes No. 3 Florida and No. 7 Louisville matchup.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (41-28)
Brent Honeywell left early in Durham's lopsided 10-2 loss to Norfolk. According to our man on the ground/guy with an MiLB.TV account @SandyKazmir, the team's top pitching prospect left with the trainer in the third inning. He was charged with six runs in 2 2/3 innings. After a wild pitch and sacrifice fly in the second helped the Bulls tie the game at two, the Tides closed the game with eight unanswered runs.
