In College World Series action Monday, Drew Rasmussen was not needed in Oregon State's blowout win over LSU. Florida State stayed alive and eliminated Cal State Fullerton. Shortstop Taylor Walls reached base a couple times and scored a run.

On Tuesday, Brendan McKay and JJ Schwarz will presumably bat on opposing sides in the high-stakes No. 3 Florida and No. 7 Louisville matchup.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (41-28)

Brent Honeywell left early in Durham's lopsided 10-2 loss to Norfolk. According to our man on the ground/guy with an MiLB.TV account @SandyKazmir, the team's top pitching prospect left with the trainer in the third inning. He was charged with six runs in 2 2/3 innings. After a wild pitch and sacrifice fly in the second helped the Bulls tie the game at two, the Tides closed the game with eight unanswered runs.

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (30-36)

Charlotte's bats took an extra couple hours on their All-Star break in a 3-0 Game 1 loss to Palm Beach in their doubleheader. Palm Beach scored twice in the first inning, and the Stone Crabs only had four hits. Starter Roel Ramirez allowed two runs on five hits and three walks in four innings.

Travis Ott started his second half on a high note in a 5-0 win in Game 2. In five easy innings, Ott struck out seven and only allowed two hits and two walks. The offense finally woke up in the fourth inning with all five runs. Palm Beach intentionally walked David Olmedo-Barrera to load the bases with one out, and Jim Haley made it pay with a two-run double. Angel Moreno also hit an RBI double.
