Last night, the Tampa Bay Rays fell to Cincinnati as the Reds snapped their nine game losing skid. The Rays tried to battle back from a three run deficit, but the bullpen failed to contain the Reds offense during the eighth inning and Cincinnati would take the first game of the series, 7-3.
During the game, Tim Beckham was hit by a pitch in the hand. He’d stay in to run the bases, but was removed the next half inning. The X-Rays would be negative, but Beckham will likely be out the rest of the series.
The Rays are now 37-36, and are tied with the Minnesota Twins for the second wild card spot.
Alex Cobb goes to the mound tonight for the Rays as they’ll take on Amir Garrett and the Reds.

- Hey, speaking of Eloy Jimenez, there was an asinine topic raised yesterday that it might cost the Cubs Jimenez if they wanted to acquire Chris Archer
- The New York Yankees had a rough day as they learned their top position prospect, Gleyber Torres, will have to undergo Tommy John Surgery
- J.J. Hardy has not been good for awhile, but the Orioles have a whole in their infield now with Hardy going on the DL for 4-6 weeks
