If you missed the big news Tuesday, the Rays signed No. 4 overall pick Brendan McKay. They still have three of their first five picks to sign.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (48-29)
Yonny Chirinos was sharp, and he was backed by the bats in Durham's 8-0 win over Indianapolis. After allowing a combined 17 earned runs over his last three outings, Chirinos settled back in and pitched how he has his professional career. In 7 1/3 scoreless innings, he struck out eight and only allowed two hits. The Bulls went up 4-0 in the third. Curt Casali doubled twice and drove in two runs.

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (3-2)
Charlotte was outclassed in an 8-4 loss to Tampa. While three runs on three hits in the fourth gave the Stone Crabs a 3-2 lead, a solo homer a half inning later started a three-run Tampa fifth that put Charlotte behind for good. Only three Stone Crabs reached base over the final five innings. Brad Boxberger allowed a run in a one-inning rehab appearance, and Eduar Lopez was charged with six runs -- four earned -- in 4 1/3 innings of piggyback work.

Bowling Green fell behind early and couldn't catch up in a 4-2 loss to Lansing. The Lugnuts scored all the runs they needed in the three-run second, and after the Hot Rods got on the board in the fourth, immediately responded by getting that run back in the bottom half of the inning. Navas allowed all four runs -- three earned -- on eight hits in five innings. Jonah Heim hit his seventh home run.

Rookie Princeton Rays (1-5)

Zach Rutherford tripled in a run in the first and then scored on a double, but Princeton found itself down 4-3 after three innings. In the fifth, Devin Davis' RBI single tied the game, and he came home to score the go-ahead run on a groundout. Starter Joel Peguero allowed all four Danville runs in four innings, but Josh Fleming and Reynier Montero combined for five scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
