Rays DOTF 6/8: Brent Honeywell leads Durham

The Tampa Bay Rays affiliates swept the day in a short slate. Brent Honeywell had his first great start in AAA. Jesus Sanchez and Jake Bauers led prospects on the offensive side of the ball.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (37-21)

The Durham Bulls beat the Charlotte Knights 8-3 behind strong performances by Brent Honeywell, Shane Peterson, and Jake Bauers. Brent Honeywell put together his best performance since being promoted to AAA. Honeywell went six innings allowing one run and striking out nine. Jake Bauers had the best offensive performance by a prospect picking up two doubles. Shane Peterson hit two homers.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods beat the South Bend Cubs 5-4 behind a two run rally in the ninth. Jesus Sanchez blasted his eighth home run of the season as part of a two hit, two RBI effort. Rene Pinto led the team with four hits.
