The Tampa Bay Rays affiliates swept the day in a short slate. Brent Honeywell had his first great start in AAA. Jesus Sanchez and Jake Bauers led prospects on the offensive side of the ball.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (37-22)
The Durham Bulls fell to the Norfolk Tides 5-1. Jose De Leon had a rough start allowing three runs on three hits and two walks including a homer. De Leon did strike out two in the inning. The Tides kicked off the second with a double, but then De Leon looked to correct things and made it through the next two innings with only a walk. When De Leon came out to warm up to start the fourth inning the trainer was called to the mound. De Leon was removed from the game and after the game it was reported that De Leon was removed due to a right lat strain. Willy Adames had a four hit night and picked up the only RBI.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (34-26)
In the first game of a double header the Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 3-2 in a seven inning game. Hunter Wood made a strong start allowing two runs, one earned, in 6.2 innings. Wood scattered eight hits while striking out four and not issuing a free pass. The Biscuits got off to a quick start with a three run first inning. They bats strung together six straight hits after a leadoff strike out. Joe McCarthy and Justin Williams contributed doubles to the assault. Over the final six innings the Biscuits were held scoreless on six hits.
In game two the Biscuits bats were quiet in the 1-0 defeat. The Biscuits only allowed two hits, but one of them were a first inning homer to Brian Anderson that plated the only run of the game. The Biscuits only gathered four hits including a double and didn’t earn a single walk.

Class A-Advanced Port Charlotte Stone Crabs (27-30)
The Port Charlotte Stone Crabs got pummeled in a 10-2 loss to the Florida Fire Frogs. Brad Boxberger got the start in his second rehab appearance. This one was much less successful than his previous. Boxberger allowed three runs on five hits including a homerun. In good news on the rehab front Wilson Ramos was scheduled to catch three to four innings, but went five and said he felt “great” after the game. Dalton Kelly was the offensive standout with three hits and walk in four plate appearances.

Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (28-30)
The Bowling Green Hot Rods fell to the South Bend Cubs 8-5. The Hots Rods combined for eleven hits and three walks. Jesus Sanchez had another multi-hit game and showed off his speed with his fourth stolen base of the year. Jonah Heim was the only Hot Rod to fail to collect a hit.

Short Season DSL Rays 1 (1-4)
The DSL Rays 1 fell to the DSL Royals 3-2 in extras. In the tenth inning the Rays put up a run before allowing two runs in the bottom of the inning for the loss. Roimer Bolivar and Raider Brito had multi-hit efforts.

The DSL Rays 2 lost their first game of the season in a 11-8 loss to the DSL Rangers 1. Christian Pedroza collected four hits and Julio Meza picked up three. Pedroza drove in four.
