Rays DOTF 7/13: Willy Adames homers in AAA all-star game.

Willy Adames and Dalton Kelly homer. Mikey York dominant.

Willy Adames hit an impressive opposite field homer in the AAA all-star game. Dalton Kelly continues to hit for unexpected power in Montgomery. Mikey York was dominant for Hudson Valley.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (55-34)

It is the all-star break for the AAA affiliate.

The Durham Bulls were represented in the AAA all-star game by SS Willy Adames, C Mike Marjama, and RHP Andrew Kittredge with Adames and Marjama getting starts. Adames hit a homer in the fifth inning off Jean Machi for his second hit of the game. Kittredge threw a scoreless 0.2 inning. The International League fell 6-4 to the Pacific Coast League.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (47-43)

The Montgomery Biscuits lost 2-1 to the Tennessee Smokies in 11 innings. Hunter Adkins picked up the start for the Biscuits and allowed one run through five innings. The only run for the Biscuits came off a fifth inning homer by Dalton Kelly. It is Kelly’s sixth homer in 66 plate appearances since being promoted to AA. In his previous 963 plate appearances he hit nine homers.

Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (38-43)

The Bowling Green Hot Rods win streak ended at nine after a 3-1 loss to the Kane County Cougars. J.D. Busfield had a solid start allowing two runs in five innings. Josh Lowe drove in the sole run on a RBI single in the fifth inning. A triple by Michael Brosseau set up the scoring opportunity. Jonah Heim had a multi hit game.

The Hudson Valley Renegades fell to the West Virginia Black Bears 2-1 in ten innings. Mikey York held the Black Bears offense to one hit through six innings while striking out seven. Taylor Walls picked up the only extra base hit for the Renegades.

The Princeton Rays offense pummeled the Danville Braves 17-6. The Rays scored three plus runs in four different innings. Ronaldo Hernandez has continued to smash leading the way with five hits including two doubles. Devin Davis picked up three hits including a homerun and double.

Rookie DSL Rays 2 (18-16)

The DSL Rays 2 lost 8-4 to the DSL Rangers 2. The Rangers 2 jumped out to a lead with eight runs in the first four frames. Jose Torrealba had a multi hit game.
