You did it, Rays fans!
For the first time in his career, Corey Dickerson will be headed to the MLB All-Star Game, and what’s more, he’s going in the opening round, selected by popular votes. That’s a huge accomplishment, especially for a team like the Rays, who so often get snide jabs about low attendance and viewership.
Dickerson, who is having far and away the best season of his career with a .325/.367/.569 line and 17 home runs, deserves to be at the All-Star Game, and fan votes made that possible for him.

Dickerson will be the sole Rays player on the All-Star roster, and will certainly do his teammates and fans proud in Miami. While there are other players from the club who were equally worthy of selection (Logan Morrison and Chris Archer, for example) it’s still wonder to see Dickerson make the starting lineup.
Congrats to Corey, and congrats to you, Rays fans, for being the ones to put him in that starting line up.
