Brent Honeywell didn’t have the best start for the Durham Bulls, but salvaged the outing with a strong final four frames. Kevin Kiermaier and Daniel Robertson were rehabbing in Port Charlotte. The Bowling Green offense continued their offensive onslaught.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (65-40)
The Durham Bulls defeated the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs 5-1. Brent Honeywell got off to a rocky start. In the first inning he was able to pitch around a single to two walks because of two pickoffs. In the second inning he allowed a leadoff homer to Jorge Alfaro followed by a double by Andrew Pullin. He would get out of the inning but not before hitting a batter. Despite the trouble he settled down and allowed two hits over the last four innings he pitched. His final line was one run in six innings while striking out six, walking two, and hitting a batter. The Bulls offense came back with single runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to take a 3-1 lead. Jake Hager hit a two run homer in the seventh to seal the game.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (58-46)
The Montgomery Biscuits beat the Tennessee Smokies 2-0 behind a strong start by Jose Mujica. Mujica threw six scoreless innings. He allowed one hit, one walk, and one hit by pitch while striking out three. Hunter Adkins and Ian Gibaut completed the shutout. The Biscuits got all the offense they needed in the fourth. Cade Gotta singled with one out. Gotta stole second and Michael Russell earned a walk. With two outs Nick Ciuffo singled to score the first run of the game. Michael Russell stole home as part of a double steal for the final run of the game. Joe McCarthy and Nick Ciuffo had multi hit games.

Class A-Advanced Port Charlotte Stone Crabs (49-53)
The Charlotte Stone Crabs fell 5-3 to the Dunedin Blue Jays. Kevin Kiermaier picked up a double in the bottom of the first. After the Blue Jays struck for two in the top of the second the Stone Crabs responded with two of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Lucius Fox scored the first run due to fielder’s interference. Daniel Robertson’s two out RBI double scored the second. Charlotte attempted to come back from the 5-2 deficit in the bottom of the ninth. Ryan Boldt and Lucius Fox singles combined to score one run, but they ended up falling short. Kiermaier picked up two hits and a walk.

Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (50-51)
The Bowling Green Hot Rods offense led the way in a 11-2 victory over the Great Lakes Loons. The Hot Rods offense combined ten hits and nine walks to score eleven runs. The scoring started with a three spot in the second. Jesus Sanchez and Jonah Heim led off with back to back singles. Sanchez and Heim would score on wild pitches. Adrian Rondon scored the third run of the inning on a RBI single by Michael Brosseau. A four run fourth put the Hot Rods up 7-0. Sanchez and Brosseau led the way with three hit nights.

The Hudson Valley Renegades game against the Aberdeen Iron Birds game was postponed due to rain.
Class A Short Season Princeton Rays (15-20)
In game one of a seven inning double header the Princeton Rays fell to the Elizabethton Twins 5-1. The Twins cruised out to a 5-0 lead with three runs coming in the third inning. Kevin Santiago’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh scored Princeton’s lone run. Moises Gomez had two of Princeton’s six hits including a double.

Rookie DSL Rays 1 (14-29)
The DSL Rays 1 beat the DSL Royals 1-0. Johan Lopez led off the eighth with a double. Angel Nelo singled to move the runner to third. Roimer Bolivar drove Lopez in with an infield single.

Rookie DSL Rays 2 (26-17)
The DSL Rays 2 steamrolled the DSL Rangers 1 9-1. The Rays 2 pitching staff held the Rangers 1 to a lone run on one hit, but allowed nine walks. The Rangers 1 took a 1-0 lead after earning walks with their first four batters of the game. The Rays 2 collected 12 hits and 10 walks. Abiezel Ramirez hit a homer and Robert Valera added a double.

Rookie GCL Rays (11-17)
The GCL Rays came back with a walk off win 8-7 over the GCL Orioles. The Rays sprinted out to a 3-0 lead threw two innings. Luis Leon’s two run double was the big hit. Another three run inning in the seven put the Rays up 7-4. Three straight singles to start the inning created the threat. Rene Pinto had an RBI single. Vincent Byrd added a sacrifice fly. Carlos Vargas capped off the inning with an RBI single. The Rays allowed the Orioles to tie the game at seven in the ninth. Carlos Vargas singled home Jonathan Aranda for the walk off win.
