Brad Miller continued hitting for power during his rehab stint with a homer for Durham. Johnny Field had himself a great day at the plate. Jose Mujica had a solid start for Montgomery.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (53-32)
The Durham Bulls beat the Charlotte Knights 8-4. Johnny Field got things started with a solo homer in the bottom of the first as the Bulls sprinted out to a 4-0 lead through three. In the seventh inning the Bulls tacked on three runs to put the game out of reach starting with a Brad Miller leadoff homer. Every Bull picked up at least one hit. Miller and Kean Wong had two hits and Field picked up three. Ryan Yarbrough went five innings and allowed two runs on two solo homers.

The Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 5-3. Jose Mujica was his normal effective self. Mujica went 6.1 innings and allowed two runs while striking out one and walking two. The Biscuits combined for five singles in the first to go up 2-0. Joe McCarthy and Justin Williams picked up the RBI. In the fifth inning Dalton Kelly continued his destruction of Southern League pitching since his promotion last week with a 2 RBI double to give the Biscuits a 4-1 lead. Justin Williams collected his second RBI single of the game in the seventh inning.

The Port Charlotte Stone Crabs fell to the St. Lucie Mets 8-4. Michael Velasquez was hit around for seven runs, five earned, through four innings and allowed two homers. One of the homers was a third inning solo shot by Tim Tebow. The Stone Crabs offense put together a four run fifth inning. David Olmedo-Barrera started off the inning with a solo homer. Jake Cronenworth capped off the inning with a three run shot.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods held on for 6-5 victory over the Dayton Dragons. The Hot Rods were the first on the board taking a 1-0 lead on a RBI double by Danny De La Calle. After the Dragons took a 2-1 lead the Hot Rods came back with a RBI triple by Lucius Fox and RBI single by Josh Lowe in the fourth inning. In the fifth inning a bases loaded 2 RBI single by Fox extended the Hot Rods lead to 6-2. The Dragons rallied for three runs in the eight, but fell a run short.

The Hudson Valley Renegades fell to the Staten Island Yankees 7-5. The Renegades fell behind 7-0 by the seventh inning stretch. In the bottom of the seventh the Renegades rallied for three runs. The runs scored on a passed ball, RBI groundout by Isaac Bernard, and Jean Ramirez reached on an error. In the eighth the Renegardes tacked on two more runs on a RBI double by Zacrey Law ahead of a RBI single by Matt Dacey.

The DSL Rays 1 lost to the DSL Red Sox 6-4. The Rays 1 went ahead 4-1 after a three run fourth. Amador Arias contributed a 2 RBI single. The Red Sox came back with a five run fifth inning to win the game despite being outhit 10-4 by the Rays 1.

The GCL Rays were defeated by the GCL Twins 10-8. The Twins surged to a 10-3 lead through five innings off back to back four run innings in the fourth and fifth. The Rays rallied for a four run eighth, but came up two runs short of the comeback. Alexander Alvarez’s two run double was the big hit in the eighth.
