With 69 votes tallied, July’s minor league player and pitcher of the month winners are as follows: Montgomery first baseman Dalton Kelly, Princeton catcher Ronaldo Hernandez, Durham right-handed pitcher Brent Honeywell, and Hudson Valley right-handed pitcher Drew Strotman.

Kelly needed just one more vote to claim a majority in full-season player of the month voting. His closest competitor was Biscuits teammate Joe McCarthy, who had 22 fewer votes than Kelly.

Hernandez won short-season player of the month for the second consecutive month. With 19 votes, he narrowly edged Hudson Valley shortstop Taylor Walls, who finished with 18.

Honeywell’s 33 votes easily paced the full-season pitcher field. Another Bulls righty, Yonny Chirinos, was his nearest competitor, but he only earned 18 votes.

Strotman’s 31 votes edged Renegades teammate Mikey York for short-season pitcher of the month.

All 28 players up for nomination received at least one vote this month.
