Rays 2017 TV schedule: All the must-watch games in the second half

We have entered the dog days of August and the race toward the postseason continues.

Over the next two months, the Rays will control their own destiny as 24 of their remaining 54 games are against their main competition for the playoffs.

The Rays will play:

• Eight more games against the current leaders in the American League East, the Boston Red Sox.
• Six games left against the New York Yankees, who are the current Wild Card leaders.
• Three games in Kansas City against the Royals, who are currently in possession of the second Wild Card spot.
• Then you also have the Cleveland Indians — who are leading the American League Central as of right now, but hold just a two game lead over the Royals — coming to town next weekend.

Based on how the Indians’ perform in current series against Boston, then their series against the high flying Yankees and Rockies, their status can change by the time the Rays meet them for four games set at the Trop next weekend.

The final two months of the 2017 season will be a journey through the AL Central and then the AL East.

The only respite will be later in September, when the Rays will be welcoming in Joe Maddon and the National League Central leading Chicago Cubs to the Trop for a brief two game series.
