The Tampa Bay Rays were victorious last night, thanks to a blasts from Logan Morrison and Evan Longoria, the latter’s of which was part of the second cycle in franchise history.
Chris Archer pitched a fine game and the new and improved bullpen continued their dominance leading a 6-4 victory.
The victory improved the Rays to 55-53 on the season.
psst...Willy Adames isn’t in the Durham Bulls lineup, despite a team off day on Monday, let the speculation begin!
Starting Pitchers
Austin Pruitt will make his second start since taking over for the injured Jake Odorizzi. Pruitt started the game on Friday against the Yankees where he took the loss after yielding three homers over just five innings pitched. The end result was five runs on four hits, while he walked two and struck out seven.
Dallas Keuchel takes the mound for the Astros and when healthy this season, he has been among the league’s best pitchers. Prior to his almost two month long DL stint, Keuchel made 11 starts and he allowed two runs or less in 10 of those outings. However, in his first start back from the DL, he lasted just three innings and allowed three runs on six hits -- one homer — while he walked three and struck out three.
