Again, sorry for the delay. Thursday night, milb.com was not working, so I waited until this morning to write it.
Here’s another reminder to vote for the players of the month for August/September.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (5-2)
Brent Honeywell saved his best for last and put Durham a game away from an International League championship in a 6-2 win over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In his final minor league start of 2017, Honeywell delivered his fourth double-digit strikeout game of the season. He struck out 10 and kept the RailRiders off the board in six strong innings.
Shane Peterson started the scoring with a two-run homer in the second. With the Bulls already up 3-0 in the seventh, Johnny Field doubled home a run, and Jake Bauers later followed with a two-run single.

Short-Season Hudson Valley Renegades (4-1)
Hudson Valley dispatched Vermont with ease to win the New York-Penn League championship with a 6-0 win over the Lake Monsters. There was little doubt the Renegades would be securing the title Thursday. In the second, Angel Perez singled in two runs, and Taylor Walls capped the five-run inning with a solo home run.
On the mound, Vermont was overmatched by the combination of Drew Strotman and Andrew Gist. It had just one hit against the 2017 draftees, and Strotman struck out five in six innings.
SS Taylor Walls: 3-for-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
1B Brendan McKay: 0-for-4, 1 BB, 1 K
