This afternoon Major League Baseball announced the start times for each game of the regular season.
All 30 teams will play on Opening Day, March 29th, with the Tampa Bay Rays set to take on the Boston Red Sox at 4:00pm EST. It is the first time since 1968 that all teams will have their first game of the season all on the same day. The Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs will have the first game of the day, beginning at 12:40. The last couple of games on the west coast will begin at 10:10, giving fans a full day of baseball.
Nine of the Rays first 12 games of the season will be day games with their entire second week of games starting at or before 2:10.
Once the season gets flowing, typical Rays weekday home games will start at 7:10. Saturday night games will begin at 6:10 and Sunday games will kick off at 1:10.
Over the first month of the season, the Rays will have five off days with the first two coming on unusual days. Their first off day will be Tuesday, April 3rd and the second will come on Friday, April 6th. The strange off days are to accommodate the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox home openers respectively in case of postponement.
The Rays complete schedule is below, with all the start times listed.
