As they celebrate 20 years of Rays Baseball, the Tampa Bay Rays will be wearing their original rainbow gradient uniforms four times throughout the 2018 season.
The first occurrence will be extremely early on, during the third game of the season at Tropicana Field on Saturday, March 31st against the Boston Red Sox. That date indicated would be the 20th anniversary of the Rays first ever game, back in 1998 when they took on the Detroit Tigers.
During that game on March 31st, the Rays will be paying homage to their inaugural team. Later on in the season, they’ll also pay tribute to their American League pennant winning 2008 team on August 4th.
The other three dates will be on June 9th against the Seattle Mariners, June 23rd against the New York Yankees, and on September 8th against the Baltimore Orioles, with all three games taking place on Saturdays.
