The Port Charlotte Stone Crabs offense has been on fire. Over the last eight games (6-2) they have scored 66 runs. Jesus Sanchez is a beast. Willy Adames continues to hit.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (8-10)
The Durham Bulls fell to the Buffalo Bisons 5-2. The Durham Bulls offense was sluggish in the mid afternoon activity. Willy Adames continued his scorching run with a double in the bottom of the first. The Bulls drew first blood with an Adam Moore homer in the bottom of the third for a 1-0 lead. The lead was short lived as the Bisons answered with three runs in the top of the fourth. Reese McGuire’s homer capped off the scoring in the frame. Jason Coats led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo homer for the Bulls second run of the game.
Prospect Notes: Jaime Schultz is carving up AAA hitters. He has struck out 12 of 31 batters faced (38.8%) after striking out 21 of 50 batters (42.0%) a year ago. Schultz was going to be in the majors last year, but went down with a groin injury in his first outing last season. He didn’t return until July.

Class A-Advanced Port Charlotte Stone Crabs (10-10)
The Port Charlotte Stone Crabs continued their offensive onslaught in a 11-4 victory over the St. Lucie Mets. After falling behind 1-0 the Stone Crabs answered with two runs in the top of the third. Kevin Padlo led off with a double. Two walks and an error contributed to the runs. Robbie Tenerowicz added an RBI in the fifth and scored on a wild pitch to give the Stone Crabs a 4-3 lead. The offense kicked it into a higher gear in the sixth. The Stone Crabs started the inning with four straight doubles (Jesus Sanchez, David Rodriguez, Tristan Gray, and Kevin Padlo). Groundouts by Miles Mastrobuoni and Josh Lowe brought home the fourth and fifth runs of the inning swelling the lead to 9-3. Sanchez added his fifth homer of the year in the seventh ahead of Rodriguez’s first homer of the season.
Prospect notes: Jesus Sanchez is really good at hitting baseballs. In 78 plate appearances he has seven doubles and five homers in a league that is known for stifling power. He’s hitting .342/.359/.632 in this young season. He doesn’t walk very often (2 BBs in 78 plate appearances). That’s really the only complaint you can find if you want to nitpick. It doesn’t really come from impatience or going out of the zone very frequently. He swings at pitches he can do damage to and doesn’t miss them all that frequently. Josh Lowe has returned after missing a few days after suffering an ankle injury on the base paths last week.

Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (10-10)
The Bowling Green Hot Rods took a beating by the South Bend Cubs 17-4. Bowling Green got off to a good start with a 3-0 lead after the first. Vidal Brujan and Carl Chester started it off with singles. A wild pitch scored Brujan for the first run of the game. Zacrey Law was hit by a pitch. Ronaldo Hernandez singled to score the second run. Devin Davis singled to cap the scoring in the frame. Resly Linares got the start for the Hot Rods and ran into trouble as part of a five run fourth inning.
