It’s only three games so far, but Josh Lowe is off to a nice start so far. He has a homer, double, 1.250 OPS, and as many walks as strikeouts (two). He’s not known for those starts. In the first three games of his pro career, he was 1-for-7 with three strikeouts. In his first three games last season, he struck out 10 times and didn’t reach base once. He’s always heated up, but maybe he’ll play more consistently throughout the season in 2018.
Also in Charlotte, Kevin Padlo exited the game after five innings.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (1-1)
Durham’s game was postponed.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (1-2)
Montgomery fell in an early hole and couldn’t get out in its 5-2 loss to Biloxi. In his return to the organization as a knuckleballer, J.D. Martin struggled in his 2018 debut, allowing four runs — three earned — on seven hits in three innings. He was relieved by Matt Krook, acquired in the Evan Longoria trade, who threw four innings of relief. Both Biscuits runs came in the eighth.

Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (1-2)
Charlotte hit three home runs en route to an 8-4 win over Fort Myers, ensuring it would not have a winless season. Robbie Tenerowicz hit a two-run homer in the first, and Josh Lowe and Tristan Gray also went deep later in the game. Kenny Rosenberg was charged with three runs in four-plus innings, and the win went to Curtis Taylor, who was acquired from Arizona for Brad Boxberger.
