DOTF 7/16: Brandon Lowe continues his International League pitching demolition tour.

Brandon Lowe hit his 10th AAA homer (18th on the season).

Brandon Lowe continued his assault on International League pitching with his tenth homer in 150 plate appearances. It was his 18th homer of the season.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (54-39)

The Durham Bulls defeated the Syracuse Chiefs 8-6. Brandon Lowe and Kean Wong went deep for the Bulls as part of a 13 hit assault by the Bulls. Willy Adames, Justin Williams, and Lowe had two hit nights with Wong picking up three.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (51-44)

The Montgomery Biscuits won a shootout in the first game of a doubleheader against the Chattanooga Lookouts 11-7. Three five runs frames were put up on the night, but the Biscuits had two of the three. Nick Solak and Dalton Kelly picked up two hits a piece. Jake Cronenworth and Mac James collected three hits a piece.

In game two the Biscuits offense was held in check in a 8-1 loss to the Lookouts. In the seven inning game the Biscuits only picked up three hits and Nathan Lukes’ double was the only extra base hit and drove in the only run. Genesis Cabrera was lit up for six runs in 2.2 innings of work including walking six of the 17 batters he faced.

Port Charlotte Stone Crabs (48-44)

The Port Charlotte Stone Crabs crushed the Tampa Tarpons 15-4. The Stone Crabs got things started quickly putting up an eight spot in the first. They added a six run inning in the fourth to take a 15-0 lead. The Tarpons only runs came in the ninth. Robbie Tenerowicz and Joey Roach collected three hits a piece. Lucius Fox, Jermaine Palacios, and Rene Pinto picked up two hits a piece. Every starter picked up at least one hit except Kevin Padlo who did get on base after being hit by a pitch.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods defeated the Quad Cities River Bandits 6-5. The Hot Rods were down 5-4 heading into the bottom of the eighth, but rallied for two runs for the win. Vidal Brujan and Jim Haley picked up two each a piece. The Hot Rods collected ten walks, but only six hits.

The Hudson Valley Renegades game against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers was postponed due to rain.

Rookie Princeton Rays (14-8)

The Princeton Rays defeated the Pulaski Yankees 4-3. The game was scoreless until the Rays finally broke through with two runs in the fifth. The late innings found both teams trading runs in the seventh and eighth with the Rays coming out on top. Jordan Qsar hit his eighth homer of the season. Wander Franco didn’t pick up a hit, but that was because he had the day off.

The GCL Rays defeated the GCL Red Sox 8-1. Most of the Rays offense came in a six run seventh inning. Brendan McKay stayed hitless going 0 for 3 in his third rehab game as a position player. McKay did pick up an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Aldenis Sanchez, Luis Leon, and Diego Infante picked up two hits a piece. Jose Mujica made a rehab appearance on the mound allowing one run in 2.1 innings while striking out four.
