DOTF 7/23: Another day, another HR by a Lowe

Nathaniel Lowe hit his 21st homer tying Brandon Lowe for the organization lead.

A couple scheduled off days and rain caused a short slate of minor league games down on the farm. Nathaniel Lowe hit the daily HR by a Lowe for his 21st of the season tying him for the organization lead with Brandon Lowe. Supplemental first rounder Nick Schnell collected three hits including a double in the GCL.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (56-43)

The Durham Bulls had a scheduled off day.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (52-44)

The Montgomery Biscuits fell to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 7-6 in extras. Nathaniel Lowe picked up his 11th AA homer and 21st overall this season. Nathan Lukes and Thomas Milone also homered for Montgomery. A five run eighth was too much for the Biscuits offense to overcome.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods fell to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 5-3. The Hot Rods have won 66 of their first 100 games which is a 107 win pace over a 162 game season. Trey Hair collected a pair of doubles to lead the Hot Rods offense. Ronaldo Hernandez and Jim Haley had a pair of singles each.

The Princeton Rays double header against the Elizabethton Twins was cancelled due to rain. Apparently rain is the only way to hold Wander Franco hitless for two days!

GCL Rays (15-13)

The GCL Rays rallied for a 5-4 victory in extras over the GCL Twins. The Rays scored three runs in the bottom of the tenth to walk off victors after allowing two in the top of the inning. Nick Schnell led the way offensively with three hits including a double and walk. Kaleo Johnson hit a two-run walk-off homer.
