It’s now been a year since Lucius Fox was promoted to Class A-Advanced Charlotte. In 131 plate appearances for the Stone Crabs last season, he batted .235 with a .608 OPS, 25.2 percent strikeout rate, and 9.2 percent walk rate. In 374 plate appearances this season, he’s batting .284 with a .722 OPS, 20.0 percent strikeout rate, and 9.4 percent walk rate. There has been improvement, but he’s still mostly a singles hitter at this point with a .073 ISO.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (57-43)
Durham held on for a 4-3 win over Toledo. After Kean Wong led off with a single, Christian Arroyo hit a two-run homer. An inning later, Arroyo drove in another run in the Bulls two-run second. Over six innings, Andrew Moore allowed just one run — a solo home run by Mikie Mahtook.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (17-15)
Montgomery scored nine in the 10th to earn a 14-5 win over Jacksonville. Michael Brosseau led off with a two-run homer, and the inning unraveled for Jacksonville from there. After the homer, three straight batters walked, and the next two singles. Another batter walked, and after another single, the Biscuits finally made their first out of the inning. J.D. Martin allowed three runs in two innings, and Curtis Taylor retired eight straight battesr to end the game.

Charlotte hammered Florida in a rain-shortened 11-2 win. Jesus Sanchez drove in two in the four-run first, and the Stone Crabs batted around and scored six in the fourth. Josh Lowe singled in a pair of runs, and Robbie Tenerowicz also plated two with a double. After Jonny Venters struck out three in an inning, Jose Mujica allowed two runs in 3 2⁄3 innings.
The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed.

Short-Season Hudson Valley Renegades (23-13)
Hudson Valley couldn’t get out of an early hole in a 5-3 loss to Lowell. The Spinners jumped on Easton McGee for three runs in the second, and after the Renegades got one back in the third, immediately answered with two more runs. McGee allowed all five runs in four innings. The Renegades scored twice in the eighth and got the tying run on base in the ninth before the final two batters were retired to end the game.
